Yan has always been interested in female psychology, specifically neurocognition about gender stereotypes. This matches the mission of QZMS, which is to promote gender equality in the field of STEM. She is fond of learning, and curious about new things, including studying abroad. She credits her father, an owner of a small grocery store, for teaching her how to tackle challenges and “speak with others with a smile”.
She values good communication and team work, and strives to always pay attention to details, believing that “a little help brings much return”. She has wide interests and hobbies, ranging from reading and writing, watching classic movies, climbing, to cooking. She has a habit of reading a book every month and then writing a book review. She is also writing a romantic novel, which she hopes to get published. She appreciates climbing because not only does it exercise my body, but it also helps her calm mind. |
