Although Jun comes from a relatively small city in Southern China, her living condition never stopped her from working hard. She says: “Most people think that as a girl, especially who is young and comes from a small city, you should be quiet and unwilling to express yourself. But to everyone’s shock, I'm different. I'm outgoing, creative, brave, energetic and always confident.” She wants to be “someone who brings light to others”, and believes that anything is possible.
She got interested in STEM when I was just 7 years old, watching fighter planes flying over the skill during the 60th National Day military parade. As she describes: “Just like the plot in a movie, when I looked up to the sky, I always envied birds to fly and wished that I could also enjoy that happiness.” She kept on exploring the mysteries of the sky and following the tracks of the stars and is now on her way to become an Aeronautical Engineer. She is an outdoorsy, sporty type and doesn’t like to sit behind a desk all day. She loves traveling, running, cycling and almost every ball sport as well as volunteering at least once a month. She also dreams of being an amateur translator so she can continue to learn languages. |
