SONG Xuejiao was born in a small village in Hubei Province. Her mother is a housewife and has to take care of her younger brother, so her father supports the whole family financially. In order relieve her parents’ pressures, she became independent and positive from an early age, which was also coupled with a love for reading and studying since primary school.
Her childhood dream was to be an electrical engineer, for which she has always made great efforts. She likes math and physics; however, some people around her often say that girls are not good at studying these subjects. She thinks this is unfair and wants to realize her dream, so she can encourage more women to learn science and engineering and make their own contribution in this field. In order to put the knowledge she learned into practice, she has been taking part in science and technology innovation competitions at her university.Song Xuejiao participated in the 28th “Fengru Cup” Competition. It is an academic, scientific and technological innovation competition with the highest reputation and widest participation of students at Beihang University. Her project, Measurement of Flow Field and Temperature Field Based on Fiber Bragg Grating, won the second prize in the information technology group in this Competition. As someone who received help from other people in junior high school, she is grateful to society. Furthermore, she believes that public welfare can promote social progress. Thus, she often does volunteering and she will try her best to pay it forward. She is proud to report in June 2018: “I have done lots of research experiments this year, but they were not very smooth. I learned how to resist stress and then calmly analyze and solve problems. This semester I participated in the 28th “Fengru Cup” Competition. It is an academic, scientific and technological innovation competition with the highest reputation and widest participation of students at Beihang University. My project, Measurement of Flow Field and Temperature Field Based on Fiber Bragg Grating(基于光纤光栅的流场温场测量), won the second prize in the information technology group in this Competition.” |
