I grew up in Beijing and graduated from University of Pennsylvania with a degree in Economics and Political Science. I am now finishing my doctoral dissertation on Chinese and Japanese politics at Stanford University. My research and volunteering trips in rural China have introduced me to many families who are willing to spend all they have on their children's education. Having been deeply touched by their efforts, I will not miss any chance to encourage students from small villages to achieve their big dreams.
