MA Linjie was born in a small village in Shanxi Province. Due to the accidental death of her father, her mother alone provides income source for the whole family. In order to relieve her mother's financial burden, in her spare time, Linjie does part-time jobs to cover her own daily expenses.
She studies at Nanjing Normal University and majors in biology education. As a freshman, she was originally admitted to the Sociology program. To pursue her dream and follow her love of biology, she went through many difficulties and switched to Biology Education. In the beginning, because of the differences between her original and current majors, she had some difficulty in catching up. After a semester of hard work, she achieved a top-5% rank in her major and won the first prize of "Excellent Student Scholarship" twice. She has continued to strive for academic excellence and has been doing very well in her major. Linjie hopes to contribute to the education of biology by becoming an excellent teacher. In order to practice her professional skills, this semester she participated in the 8th “Huawen Cup” Competition,which is an academic competition with a great reputation and a lot of participation from students of teachers’ colleges all over the country. Eventually, Linjie won the first prize. Last semester, Linjie and three classmates have successfully applied to set up a research project where they will be exploring "How to Develop STEM Educational Activities in Senior High School Biology Teaching"(关于如何在高中生物教学中开展STEM 教育的研究). In her spare time, Linjie likes volunteering. For two years, she is a Dream Mentor for the "Teach for China" charity program. She has been keeping weekly contact and built a deep friendship with a child in a poverty-stricken mountainous area in the Guangdong province, helping him to strive for and realize his dreams. At school Linjie often volunteers in the library to help readers make better use of library resources. Linjie enjoys a wide range of hobbies. She loves travelling and has been to many places like Beijing, Tianjin, Xinjiang, and Hainan. In her spare time, she also likes reading and doing sports. Although life is full of challenges, Linjie faces life with a positive and optimistic attitude. She believes she can lead a better life with her persistence and optimism. “I am honored to join the warm QZMS family.
