LIU Xiaomin was born in an ordinary peasant family in Nantong, Jiangsu Province. Unfortunately, when she was young, her mother was diagnosed with lung cancer and passed away. Her father had to take the burden of sustain her whole family and repay the debt. Despite these adversities, her family remained optimistic towards life. Her father worked outside all year long, but he often told her to learn to be independent and brave, in order to face challenges. Therefore, she was more mature and steady than her peers. Her elder sister and she both performed well in study.
Now, Xiaomin is a junior at Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics. In this university, she found another world, where she developed her interest in physics. She devoted most of her time to studying, ranking first in her major and was awarded the first prize of outstanding students and National Scholarship. She never gave up easily when confronted with problems and tried hard to become a better person. During the past two years in university, she has spent over 425 hours doing voluntary projects. Her aim is to light others' life as a sun. In the future, Xiaomin plans to study abroad, reach different worlds, and grow to be an excellent person. Just as she believes, nothing can stop her except herself. |
