Junwei was raised by her single mom, whom she describes as very strong and optimistic and who has taught her to face challenges optimistically and strongly. In order to lighten the financial burden for her mother, Junwei works at a printing company during her vacations. She is very involved in the community, for example serving as the vice minister for activities with Yanxing for one year. She was also an enthusiastic participant in the Yanxing summer inspirational speech tour and other community service activities that help the disadvantages. She enjoys singing and reading in her free time. Although she admits that her grades were not good her freshman year, she worked hard to improve them, with great results: her GPA for core courses is 4.0 and she ranks first in her major. She often helps her classmates with tricky problems if they don’t understand how to solve them. She has also joined a school project on innovation, leading a team to build an electronic payment system. Her career goal is to become an information security engineer: “In addition to learning the lessons of the school, I usually read some books related to the major. I also focus on the trends of the computer field all the time. In order to realize my dream, I will improve myself constantly. I think information security engineer is a rewarding career.” Junwei was successfully admitted to graduate school of Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics. She will be studying Machine learning and expect to graduate with a master degree in 2020. Her career goal is becoming a researcher on machine learning. In the past year, “I have developed some understanding of machine learning especially deep learning. I am doing my experiment and participating in the project cooperation with HUAWEI.” |
