I grew up in Anhui and have lived between China and the U.S. ever since a young age. Having seen the dramatic difference in economic conditions between the two countries, I've always felt extremely lucky to have opportunities that the rest of my family did not have. After completing my undergraduate degree at Wharton (where I had the pleasure of singing with Yin in an a cappella group), I moved to Hong Kong/China and spent four years looking at cross-border acquisitions and operating turnarounds for industries such as manufacturing and healthcare. During that time, I developed a passion for social and environmentally-driven enterprises, which led me to come back to the U.S. for an MBA to further explore these themes. I currently work at a venture capital fund focused on technologies that can solve the most pressing challenges in energy, environment, agriculture, and healthcare, especially in China and the developing world. I also hope to spread the word on this important endeavor and also engage future generations in this effort.
