HOU Xiao is studying Information Management and Information Systems at Beihang University. She has a very strong interest in STEM. At the same time, she has good communication skills and teamwork skills. Combined with her own characteristics, she chose information system and information management as her development direction.

She studies very hard and has always been among the best in college. She also actively participated in her mentor's research projects to continuously improve her scientific literacy.

She is also committed to volunteering. She served as the leader of the teaching team, teaching scientific knowledge and cultivating scientific thinking for children in primary and secondary schools in mountainous areas. In Beihang, she was awarded "Excellent Volunteer" and "Excellent Social Practice Team Leader".

She has always believed that women can play as important or greater roles than men in STEM fields. She has also experienced some sexism in STEM learning firsthand. So she also hopes to prove the ability of women in the field of science through her own efforts.
