DING Mengyu 丁萌钰Space Science

DING Mengyu comes from the School of Space and Environment of Beihang University. She is currently studying Space Science, which mainly studies physical phenomena in the universe.
Her hometown is a small county in Nanyang, Henan Province. She has a brother who is 12 years younger than her. When she was a child, her family was very poor, but her parents were very optimistic. They tried their best to create a happy family, so Mengyu never felt inferior to other children. Instead she grew up with optimism and a love for life, which is a huge part of her personality, even today. Her passion for volunteering is greatly dueto the influence of her parents. Mengyu likes sports, especially outdoor sports, such as outdoor hiking, camping, desert crossing, rock climbing. She feels that doing sports replenishes her energy. When it comes to why she wants to join the family of Qian Zheng Memorial Scholarship, Mengyu said that: "I think mentorship is the most important value of QZMS. I believe I will have opportunities to meet many excellent mentors, to know other equally hard working and talented scholars, to learn about various knowledge and skills and to broaden global horizon. My English can be improved from communicating with native speaker mentors. Therefore the long term mentor-mentee relationship will be most helpful to me. Of course, scholars need to participate actively to make the most of QZMS resources. So if I am fortunate enough to become a QZMS scholar, I will definitely seize opportunities to participate in events." |
