Like many of our scholars, Wei and her younger brother were also brought up by her grandparents. She explains that she became interested in biology because “every organism is a miracle”. While on campus, she was very involved in the student union and participated in the Yanxing inspirational speech trips to high schools, though her favorite activity was always the spring outing, as she is an aficionado of the outdoors. While on campus, she also provided psychological counseling for students to help them adjust to school life and was a guide field experiments as part of a biology interest group. Outside of the classroom, she likes sports, reading and hiking.
After graduation, she worked as a biology teacher, with the aim to become a professor one day. However, after two years of teaching, she realized that she was not suitable for this career track. The third year of her career life, She tried many kinds of job such as Human resources, marketing, office clerk and so on. After one year exploration, She found that teacher was the best career for her. She become a dedicated teacher. “[As a teacher], every time I stepped onto the podium, gazing into [my students'] eyes, I felt the heavy responsibility. Through them, I saw my past. Poverty made us stronger. We cherish the happy life and we are easily satisfied. We know to gratitude and cherish every chance.” If you want to do something ,just to do.
